CD1 is experimental downbeat electronica with melancholy overtones. There’s a distinct IDM feel to it in places. It's dub, its trip hop, it's IDM, its minimal, its maximal and it’s very dynamic. It's difficult to categorize and a mission to digest in one sitting with your girlfriend saying 'Jesus, this is depressing turn it off ffs!' I reckon some will love it and some will hate it. I'm gonna have to give this a few 'proper' listens.
High brow stuff. CD2 is fucking wicked!! It starts off with a couple of downbeat vocal tracks, very much in the same vein as CD1, only easier to get into.

CD2 is wicked! So, there’s an awful lot to digest here.
The jury is still out on CD1 - it's very intricate and very well thought out, i just didn't 'get it' 100% on first listen. CD2 delivers what we expect from Trentemoller. Minimal electro mayhem - seriously good stuff - I am so pleased to have all of these tracks sounding so nice packaged up on one CD. I defy anyone to be disappointed with this release. It’s not quite what I expected but I'm by no means unhappy with it. Click to expand.OK - bearing in mind that this is a style I'm newish to - I'm getting pretty fond of this album.
The chilled side does get a bit morose, in a pull-your-jumper-over-your-knees kinda way on sometunes, but it's so deliciously arranged and produced, it's nice to wallow in The only slightly more upbeat side is very nice indeed - heaps of space in the sounds, with an excellent line in truly ENORMOUS bottom end action. The basslines are sooo bouncy and fun, with clean, minimal clicky glitchy goodness sprinkled over the top. It's taken a couple of weeks of poking at it with my audio stick, but I'm loving it to bits now.
Except - sorry Jamez - for the tunes with singing on. They're just fucking dire. The one with the bloke on disc two, well, just confirms what I keep saying about singing over simple synth driven dance music - it will sound like bad eighties music. The girl singing just about gets away with it, but it's still pretty dreadful.
Overall though - thumbs up. But then I really like Thom Yorke's solo album too. I must be getting young.
